Software for Video Recording/Editing?

I am looking at putting out (finishing up) some of the older videos I recorded.

I am needing some new video editing software, to help make this easy.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have Sony Vegas (an older version) but find it complicated to use from time to time.

Id like to do some picture in picture things, along with some other effects.

Any suggestions?
